Founded in 1979
The idea for the Canadian Pro Rodeo Hall of Fame was born around a table of rodeo alumni at the Canadian Finals Rodeo in 1979. What started as a simple proposal quickly gathered steam. After a few more meetings and a lot of heart, the Canadian Rodeo Historical Association was officially formed on June 19, 1980.
A year later, in 1981, the Government of Canada granted the association tax-free charitable status—cementing its role as the keeper of rodeo’s legacy in this country.
Founding Members
The original founding members rolled up their sleeves and got to work—not for glory, but for the love of the sport. They created a Hall of Fame to honour the contestants, animal athletes, and builders who gave their all to professional rodeo in Canada.
Thanks to their vision, the stories that shaped this sport still have a home.

The following individuals stepped up early—offering their support, time, and belief in the importance of preserving rodeo’s legacy through the Association.
